About Us

La Chaîne

La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an international gastronomic society dedicated to bringing together professional and non-professional members from around the world who appreciate wine, cuisine and fine dining.  Members of a local Bailliage are part of a worldwide organisation with almost 24,000 members in about 70 countries.

One unique point about the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is that membership is transferable worldwide.  This means if you become a member in one country and then for professional or personal reasons you move to another country, your membership is still valid.  Additionally, it also allows you to be part of the Chaîne's international network and participate in Chaîne events and activities in different countries across the globe.

The Chaîne also offers members the opportunity to join the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Degustateurs, whose principal goal is to promote and enhance the enjoyment of fine wines and quality spirits.

As cuisine and fine dining are a focal point within the Chaîne, our Society supports and promotes the future of young cooks worldwide through our Jeunes Commis Rôtisseurs Competition.  It provides them with the opportunity to devleop and demonstrate their culinary skills.  Competitions are held annually at regional, national and international levels.

Bailliage d'Ecosse

The Bailliage d'Ecosse was re-established in 2006 having been a vibrant Baillage until the mid to late 90's.  The core membership is currently in the East of Scotland but our growing membership is spread in the west to Glasgow and the Isle of Skye, to the south as far as Peebles, and to the north as far as Inverness.

In keeping with the aims of the Chaîne our aims are to have fun, enjoy fine dining with good friends and to take advantage of the international reach of the Chaîne, and through these activities to extend our friendships.

In order to accomplish this, each year we will arrange a programme of dinners, lunches and trips of varying formality, but always great fun.  We have members who run great restaurants and hotels and we would encourage you to try them all.  Many will become firm favourites.

In 2007 we are involved in promoting young chefs and great suppliers of good food and wine.
