Cringletie House Hotel Cringletie House is a luxurious, romantic and comfortable small country house hotel and restaurant. With its 4 red stars it is the only AA Top hotel in the Scottish Borders, just south of Edinburgh, Scotland.The castle type baronial mansion is set in the tranquil and rural countryside where sheep outnumber humans! The House dates back to 1861 and the Walled Garden goes back as far as 1661, when the first Cringletie House was built. Cringletie is ideal for a romantic weekend break or a leisure midweek. We also have special facilities for the disabled (or Handicapped) persons. We welcome well behaved dogs, and have two rooms where dogs can be accommodated. Many of our guests come to enjoy exquisite fine dining, tuned to perfection by our French Masterchef Jimmy Desrivieres. Wining & DiningWe cordially invite you to savour the interesting and well balanced dishes from our award winning Kitchen Team, under the inspirational leadership of Chef Jimmy Desrivieres. These dishes will undoubtedly please your palate! The contemporary cuisine of the Chef is influenced by the abundance of fresh local Scottish produce. The team makes the most of it and does that with native French flair! In particular the south of France is the main source of inspiration. The dishes reflect the style of that country. The contrasts are there: hot and cold, soft and savory, sweet and sour. They permanently strive to create deliciously colourful and original dishes starting with tastes from home and enriched with the fresh local produce and fruit and vegetables from our own walled garden.
